The short version
Your filament library lives on your device. Filameter has no accounts, no ads, no analytics or tracking SDKs, and we never sell data. A small number of features send limited data off-device to work, and they're all listed below.
Data stored on your device
Spools, containers, prints, drying history, and settings are stored locally on your iPhone. We do not run servers that store your library, and we cannot see it. Deleting the app deletes this data.
AI search
When you use AI search, the text of your query (for example, “dry half-full black PETG”) is sent over an encrypted connection to our server, which forwards it to Anthropic's Claude API to interpret it into search filters. Queries are not stored by us and are not used to identify you. Anthropic processes this data as described in its privacy policy.
Camera spool scanning
Estimating how much filament remains on a spool happens entirely on your device using a local machine-learning model. If color detection is used, a cropped photo of the spool is sent over an encrypted connection to our server and forwarded to Anthropic's Claude API to identify the color. Images are used only to answer that request; we do not store them.
Printer sync (Bambu Lab)
If you connect a Bambu Lab printer, you sign in directly with Bambu Lab. Your email and password are sent to Bambu Lab's servers, not ours. The resulting access token is stored securely in your device's Keychain and is used to talk to Bambu Lab's services (for AMS data and recent prints). We never receive or store your Bambu credentials. Bambu Lab processes this data under its own privacy policy. Filameter is not affiliated with Bambu Lab.
Purchases
The Pro upgrade is processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your payment details.
Notifications
Drying reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device. No notification data leaves your phone.
Children
Filameter is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
